The aim of this
site is to give a brief but informative overview of the surrealist art movement
of the early twentieth century. It will focus on the years between the First
and Second world wars. A definition of what surrealism is and its history
are outlined. A profile of some of the leading and most famous surrealist
artists is given, with examples of some of their best and most famous works.
